Information kept on your device

Your birthday, chosen lifespan setting, life-grid preferences, selected language, saved reflections and reminder settings are stored locally in the app and its shared App Group. Notifications are scheduled on your device. The countdown is a personal reflection tool, not a medical assessment or a prediction of your lifespan.

Screen Time controls

If you grant Apple's Screen Time permission, the app uses Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity to apply your chosen blocking rules. App and category selections use Apple's privacy-preserving tokens. Dying Soon does not send your selected apps, browsing history or Screen Time activity to Space Sheep Studio or RevenueCat. Permission is optional; focus controls need permission to work.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Apple processes in-app payments. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore access and manage Pro entitlements. The app sends an automatically generated anonymous app-user identifier, purchase and subscription information, and paywall-interaction events to RevenueCat for app functionality and analytics. We do not require a name, email address or other app login to make a purchase, and we do not add contact details to this identifier. We do not receive your payment-card information.

Analytics and advertising

RevenueCat records purchase information and custom paywall impressions to help us understand purchase and upgrade behavior. These events do not contain your birthday, lifespan setting, selected apps, quotes or Screen Time history. The app does not use these data for cross-app advertising or share them with data brokers. App Store performance reports supplied by Apple are separate from the app's local focus records.

Sharing, storage and retention

Purchase-related information and anonymous paywall events are processed by Apple and RevenueCat under their respective policies. Local app data remains until you remove it or delete the app, subject to device backups and shared-container behavior. Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat for restoring entitlements, accounting, security and applicable legal obligations. We do not promise a fixed retention period for those providers.

Your choices

You can decline notifications or choose zero reminders. You can change Screen Time permission in iOS Settings, restore purchases in the app, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Contact us for questions about your data or a deletion request; include only the information needed to locate the request, and never send payment-card details.
