Choose the sequence before the layout

Select only the screenshots needed to tell the story. Put them in the order a reader should follow, and check for repeated headers or overlapping sections. Combining images is different from automatically reconstructing a scrolling screen. Keep the source screenshots until you have checked the finished file.

Arrange the images in Combine Photos

Select two to thirty images in the iPhone app. Choose the long-photo layout for a vertical reading sequence, then review the order and spacing. Use the framing controls to keep the relevant content visible. The app offers eleven layouts if a pair or grid is a better fit for your images.

Check text at the saved size

Export JPEG or PNG at an appropriate output width, up to 3000 pixels. Open the saved image and zoom in on the smallest text. Fitting many screenshots into one output can make each section smaller. If it is difficult to read, use fewer screenshots in each composition rather than assuming a larger collection is more useful.

Check the copy that reaches the reader

Save to Photos or share the finished image. A messaging destination may resize it, so inspect the received copy as well as the file you saved. Use a file-sharing method that preserves the detail your reader needs. Review names, messages and other personal information before sharing the image.

Try the separate browser version

The browser tool offers three basic layouts for up to twelve JPG, PNG or WebP files, with output limited to 4096 pixels on its longest side. It fits images inside square cells without cropping and does not remove repeated overlap. Its limits and behavior differ from the iPhone app.
