Privacy policy

This policy applies to HEVC & HDR Video Converter (VideoFix), developed by Jiali Liang.

On-device processing

VideoFix processes selected videos and audio on your device using Apple’s media frameworks. We do not upload your media to our servers. No account is required. The app includes no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.

Files and permissions

The system Photos picker gives the app access to the videos you select. Files selected from the Files app are copied to temporary local storage. Imported copies are cleared on a later app launch. Converted copies remain in the app’s export folder and local library until you delete them.

Saving a converted video to Photos requests add-only photo permission. You can decline this permission and still use Share or save to Files. Original media is not overwritten.

Recording date and location

If enabled, embedded recording date and location are read and copied into the converted file. They remain on-device unless you choose to share that output. You may turn this option off before converting to remove these metadata fields from the new copy. Metadata unavailable in the original file cannot be recovered.

Purchases and local preferences

In-app purchases and payment processing are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment card information. The app checks verified App Store transactions to determine lifetime or subscription access. It stores your successful free-conversion count and export history locally. Apple or system device backups may include app data according to your settings.

Sharing and external links

When you share an exported file, the destination you choose handles it under its own privacy policy. Opening support, terms or privacy links uses the relevant website. Website hosting and Apple services may process standard connection information under their own policies.

Data collection

The app does not collect personal data for the developer. If you choose to email support, we receive the information you include and use it to respond. You do not need to send personal videos to receive general help.

Control and contact

Delete exports in the app or Files, revoke photo access in iOS Settings, or uninstall the app to remove its local data. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
