Follow these steps

  1. Open VideoFix and choose the videos for this batch.
  2. Choose an output resolution: 4K, 1080p, 720p or 480p.
  3. Review the color conversion, frame-rate target and any optional maximum-size setting.
  4. Convert the batch, then open the exported clips and check quality before sharing them.

Choose resolution for the destination

Resolution is the number of pixels in each frame. A 4K source may not need a 4K sharing copy when the destination is a small preview or a size-limited upload. Start with the destination requirements rather than selecting the lowest resolution just to get a smaller number.

Resizing and compression are related, but different

Reducing resolution often helps reduce file size, but the result also depends on duration, codec and encoding settings. Two clips exported at 1080p can have very different sizes. Check the resulting files instead of promising a fixed reduction percentage.

Keep important detail readable

Test footage containing text, a screen recording or fine detail before converting the whole batch. Downscaling can make small lettering hard to read. A higher output resolution cannot recover detail that is absent from the source, so keep original recordings for future edits.

Review each exported copy

Compare frame shape, duration, sound and file size. Confirm whether the chosen workflow also converted HDR to SDR, because resolution and color are independent settings. VideoFix runs on-device and leaves originals untouched. The first three conversions are free; further use requires a paid plan.

Common questions

Is 1080p always small enough to upload?

No. Duration and encoding also affect size. Check the service limit and the exported file size.

Does resizing convert portrait footage into landscape?

Resolution and aspect ratio are different. Check the preview and output shape rather than assuming a resolution change reframes the shot.
